Complex Seating Challenges with Medifab

Ensuring appropriate prescription and set up of a seating system that preserves function and posture, protect the skin and promote a sense of well-being is absolutely paramount when providing wheelchair seating services to our clients. When our client has complex postural needs, this can be particularly challenging.

This interactive and intermediate level workshop has been designed to assist therapists supporting people with complex postural deviations who are likely to require complex seating solutions. The learning process will be facilitated by step-by-step demonstrations and real case study discussions where participants will have the opportunity to learn, develop and/or improve assessment and prescription skills to ensure postural and functional goals for their clients.

Learning objectives/ Topics covered:

  • Seating and Positioning principles and best practices
  • Human Biomechanics
  • Initial Assessment Intake
  • MAT Assessment – step-by-step
  • Clinical Reasoning Process
  • Clinical Applications
