Lets Talk about Toileting (Clinical focus on the application of Raz Commodes)
For some people, activities of daily living such as toileting, intimate hygiene, and bathing / showering, require use of mobile shower commode chairs (MSCCs). Seating in MSCCs requires balancing this functioning with managing three additional seating-related goals: pressure and skin integrity, posture, and comfort. The presentation draws on participants’ existing knowledge of seating for wheeled mobility and other sitting surfaces and applies it to MSCC seating.
This workshop is aimed at occupational therapists, technicians, and other assistive technology practitioners tasked with assessing, specifying, justifying, or maintaining MSCCs for individual users. Participants will be introduced to a user-centred and evidence-based approach to assessing and specifying MSCC frames and seating. The workshop will include hands-on learning with the Raz Mobile Shower Commode Chair range, and time for small group discussion.
