A Basic Introduction to Mechanical Assessment Tool (MAT) Evaluation and Funding

Objectives:

1. Hands on skills training for MAT assessment.

2. Translation of the assessment findings into practical trial equipment selection.

3. Achieve positive clinical objective outcomes.

This workshop is designed for clinicians involved in seating and wheelchair assessment. Special emphasis will be placed on the value of the “hands on” seating assessment – both supine and sitting. Each attendee will learn the skills necessary to effectively perform seating and mobility assessments and provide evidence and clinical justification for the options being recommended to the funding body.

Participants will leave this course with the ability to confidently assess and prescribe seating/mobility systems which promote comfortable, attainable & functional postures. These practical tips and tricks will make you much more comfortable doing a MAT assessment!
