A Picking the Right Manual Wheelchair Frame – Don’t Stop There

Learn how to prescribe and configure manual wheelchairs to maximize independence, function and long-term health with avoidance of overuse injuries. Topics will include frame selection, configuration to promote safe, functional independence in an active manual wheelchair. We’ll experience, through trial and interaction, how different frame styles and set-ups affect propulsion, comfort and ultimately client function.

Mitchell comes from a trade background before acquiring a spinal injury in October 2010; since then he has been a manual wheelchair user. Mitch also plays Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Rugby League, representing his country in both sports.

Prior to joining Sunrise Medical, Mitch worked for an equipment supplier in Sydney providing advice and prescription services for clients seeking lightweight active manual wheelchairs. . Mitch joined the Sunrise Clinical Hub Team in 2020 as a Product Specialist in our High End Manual wheelchair and RGK portfolios. He assists both clients and suppliers throughout Australia ensuring a client’s wheelchair is designed to best suit individual and environments needs
